Changelog v2025-02-21
The Null Doctrine » Devlog
This version of the game is now available on Steam as a demo. Accompanying the Steam demo is a small update; here are the changes:
- Settings are now split into two different files: system settings (graphics, display) and user settings (everything else). As a consequence, system settings have been reset.
- All levels have received minor tweaks, most of which are purely cosmetic
- Desks are now desk-shaped, tables are now table-shaped, etc
- The metro rails are once again lower than ability and entity indicators
- The nightclub and nexus now have chairs
- The low-pass filter on the nightclub music is a little less extreme
- Focus choices are no longer available for the Metro (unless using the setting to unlock everything) so that loadout selection is less overwhelming for new players
- Melee enemies are a little better about sticking close to you
- Enemies are now Vigilant when they have an ability selected
- Several HUD settings will now be applied if changed during an operation, rather than waiting to apply for the next operation
- The entity readout vanishes when clicked
- Improved the layout of the credits menu
- The focus menu has received several minor changes
- Instead of repeating the ability name, each rank is numbered
- You can select a focus rank by clicking on it, rather than having to use the +/- buttons
- Adjusted the faded-out color of unselected ranks
- The prologue can no longer be entirely skipped using stage select (unless using the setting to show future stages)
- The game now uses a custom cursor; this can be disabled in the settings menu
- Removed vigilance-based settings
- Fixed SSAO not actually being applied
- Fixed enemies sliding across the ground like statues if they became alert while moving
- Fixed corpses being unusually talkative (they are now the normal amount of talkative)
- Fixed damage previews not appearing for new players
- Fixed the conversation with Bowen not being localized
- Fixed a soft-lock that could occur due to overlapping animations
- Fixed a crash when starting an operation with the Bastion shotgun
- Fixed a crash when equipping nothing into a loadout slot
